Sweden defeated Poland (2-1) inwards a telephone substitution qualifier.
USSR defeated Turkey (1-0) too and so tied (1-1) alongside Republic of Iceland inwards 2 qualifiers.
Romania won a qualifier vs. Republic of Bulgaria (1-0) too inwards the same Group, Kingdom of Denmark defeated Hellenic Republic (7-1).
The Final edition of Rous Cup took house alongside Republic of Chile every bit guests. England too Scotland would non play i about other until 1996.
Steve Bull, a lower Division player, made his debut too scored for England inwards its win over Scotland (2-0).
Holland came away win a narrow win over Republic of Finland (1-0), piece West Deutschland too Wales matchup ended scoreless.
